IRIS is a beautiful 40’ Beneteau Oceanis yacht, skippered by the very knowledgeable and personable Lefteris.  An afternoon or day on IRIS means you will have an amazing experience in the comfort of a very well appointed boat.  We had an amazing day sailing and swimming, while enjoying great food and wine and company.  Just want to sit back and relax?  No problem.  Want to get engaged and learn more about sailing? My Unforgettable Experience I booked a boat trip with Lefteris for my baby’s first birthday, and honestly, I couldn’t have made a better choice. The boat was absolutely beautiful, very clean, spacious, comfortable, and most importantly, safe. The water was crystal clear and we felt completely safe throughout the whole trip. Lefteris was incredibly kind and welcoming. He shared stories with us, joined in with our group, and made us feel comfortable from the very beginning. He also had all the necessary safety and swimming equipment on board. But the most incredible part of the experience was something I never expected. I don’t know how to swim. I have always been afraid of the sea and I would only ever go into the water if I could touch the bottom with my feet. I had always wanted to swim in the sea, but fear always stopped me. Everyone in our group went into the water, and Lefteris told me that if I wanted, I could try too. We were in about 6 meters of water, so at first I was very hesitant and scared. But Lefteris gave me all the necessary equipment and patiently explained what movements I should make. Little by little, I gained confidence. Eventually, we took off the equipment, and I was actually swimming on my own! I still can’t believe it. Lefteris taught me how to swim. He helped me overcome a fear I had carried with me for years. I truly cannot thank him enough. I learned to swim by starting in deep water, something I never thought I would ever be able to do. This experience is honestly something you have to try. Don’t overthink it — just go for it. It is absolutely worth it! And our experience didn’t end there. As we were leaving, we celebrated my little one’s birthday by cutting the cake at the perfect moment, while watching the sunset and enjoying an absolutely breathtaking view. It was such a beautiful and unforgettable moment. We will definitely do this again, and we will absolutely be booking with Lefteris again. Thank you so much, Lefteris, for such an amazing experience and for giving me one of the most unforgettable moments of my life. ❤️ Lefteris also helped my little daughter get into the water. She is only five years old and doesn’t know how to swim yet, so he made sure she had all the necessary safety equipment to keep her safe and close to us. He was incredibly patient and reassuring with her, and she had such an amazing time. It truly became one of the most beautiful moments of our lives. Now, I am no longer afraid of the sea — I learned how to swim! And my daughter has almost learned how to swim too. Most importantly, she is no longer afraid of deep water or of the sea. I am incredibly happy and grateful for this experience. Thank you, thank you so much, Lefteris! We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Lefteris and Sailing Compass! From the very beginning, Lefteris was incredibly welcoming, enthusiastic, and professional. He did a fantastic job making sure everyone felt comfortable and, most importantly, safe throughout the entire trip.

What really stood out to us was how much he genuinely cared about the safety and well-being of the whole crew. He was attentive to everyone’s needs, respected our wishes as a family, and made sure we could relax and enjoy every moment without having to worry about anything.

I recently completed my skipper certification course at Sailing Compass, and I cannot praise it enough. It was a comprehensive, one-on-one course consisting of online theory classes and 8 days of hands-on practical training on the boat.

My instructor, Lefteris Amorialis - an engineer by profession who does this alongside his day job - does not approach these courses as a merely "commercial" activity. He is genuinely dedicated to and passionate about passing his extensive experience and knowledge down to beginners like me. He is incredibly attentive and never tires of giving constructive feedback.

I really appreciated the rigorous approach taken by Lefteris and his associate, Takis. They are not doing this to hand out certificates; they want to ensure students develop a fundamental understanding of true seamanship, with a heavy emphasis on safety and preparedness for any situation at sea. The course concludes with a thorough, rigorous exam.

Additionally, Sailing Compass offers an excellent interactive online platform loaded with visuals, videos, and instructional material that students can access even after finishing the course.
