Lefteris Amoiralis
Founder • Certified Sailing Instructor • Engineer • PhD in Energy • Educator
With a lifelong connection to the sea, beginning in early childhood, Lefteris founded SailingCompass by combining his passion for sailing with a background in engineering, university teaching, and professional sailing instruction.
His extensive offshore racing experience includes numerous participations and notable distinctions in the Aegean Rally, with several race victories and overall podium finishes. This experience has shaped his approach to sailing, seamanship, and decision-making at sea.
Drawing on his technical and educational background, he developed SailingCompass as a complete sailing ecosystem, connecting the Academy, Sailing School, and Experiences. His philosophy focuses on understanding rather than memorisation, developing practical skills and making the right decisions at sea, with safety always remaining a top priority in everything he does.

Takis Vamialis
Senior Sailing Instructor • Engineer • 37+ Years of Sailing Experience
Takis brings more than three decades of sailing experience, extensive offshore racing achievements, and many years of professional sailing instruction to SailingCompass.
An engineer and accomplished offshore sailor, he has participated in numerous major sailing regattas, earning significant distinctions and podium finishes. His competitive background, combined with his technical knowledge and practical seamanship, has shaped his hands-on approach to sailing and safety at sea.
For more than 15 years, Takis and Lefteris have worked closely together, developing sailing courses and training hundreds of students, many of whom have become confident and independent skippers. Their shared philosophy emphasises practical understanding, experience, and safety as a fundamental priority in every sailing activity.

Julija combines an engineering background and a PhD in Energy with more than ten years of sailing experience on monohulls as a certified offshore sailor.
Her analytical background and experience in structured project assessment bring an important perspective to Sailing Compass educational content. She helps ensure that complex sailing concepts are presented accurately, clearly and in a way that remains practical and accessible to sailors at different levels of experience.
Panos Dalivigkas
Engineer • 3D Scanning & Immersive Technology Specialist
Panos brings specialist expertise in high-precision 3D scanning, virtual tours and immersive technology.
His work has been central to creating the interactive 3D environments used by the Sailing Compass Academy, transforming real yachts into detailed digital learning spaces. Combining engineering precision with immersive technology, he helps bridge the gap between online learning and the physical sailing environment.

Stavros supports the digital infrastructure behind Sailing Compass, connecting its website, learning environment and online systems into a simple and intuitive user experience.
With a strong software engineering background and a collaborative approach, he has played an important role in developing the technical foundations that allow Sailing Compass to bring together its digital learning, student services and online platforms.

Danai brings together sailing experience, photography and visual storytelling to capture the people, yachts and experiences behind Sailing Compass.
Through photography and creative content, she helps translate life at sea into authentic visual stories — from sailing education and life on board to the experiences and moments that define the Sailing Compass community.
