What’s the best course for you? Let’s find out together

Offshore Sailing Certificate Program

Training and getting the Offshore Sailing Certificate is the most common practice. Building sailing skills from beginner to advanced involves progressing through various stages (see the table). The goal of this course is to prepare you for sailing or chartering your own boat.

Upon successful completion of the exams, you will receive your Sailing Offshore Certificate, which certifies your competence in offshore sailing and can be recognized by other sailing authorities and maritime organizations worldwide. This certification is a valuable credential if you wish to sail internationally or engage in offshore sailing activities.

Our sailing school is certified by the Hellenic Sailing Federation (under the General Secretariat of Sports and the Ministry of Culture and Sports in Greece), and you will get your Sailing Offshore Certificate, recognized within the European Union (EU), aligned with EU maritime standards..

I took sailing lessons along with my wife and our friend.
Every Saturday, we came to the boat tired after a busy week and left all happy, excited and eager to learn more.
Each trip/lesson was a unique experience on this “divine” (“theiko”) sailing yacht.
Captain Lefteris leads by example and actively demonstrates sailing excellence. We learned a lot, we practiced a lot and we had a really good time.

Q: Many people ask me if sailing lessons are all about learning to trim the sails like a pro — is that really what sailing school is about?

A: After more than 15 years as a sailing instructor, I can say that trimming sails is just one small part of what sailing lessons truly cover. Sailing school is about much more than that — it’s a complete education in the skills and knowledge needed to safely and confidently operate a boat.

Students learn how to navigate using traditional paper charts and compass, as well as modern electronic navigation tools like GPS and AIS, understanding when and how to rely on each method. Boat handling is another key focus, especially maneuvering under power and mastering the often tricky docking process, which requires calm, precision, and teamwork.

Most importantly, safety is at the heart of our training. We teach how to properly use all essential safety gear — VHF radios, fire extinguishers, flares, life jackets, harnesses, wire cutters, first aid kits, emergency tillers, and emergency beacons like EPIRBs. Practical seamanship skills like knot tying, anchoring, line handling, and equipment maintenance are also fundamental.

Sailing is ultimately about good judgment, preparation, and awareness. Our courses build more than just sail trimming skills — they create confident sailors who are ready to handle the full responsibility of being on the water.
