Best Boat 2021 (Beneteau Oceanis 40.1) (3D tour of the S/Y IRIS)

Sail Magazine, one of the world’s top publications for all things related to sailing, announced that the Oceanis 40.1 has been awarded Best Monohull Cruising Boat Under 50ft’ for 2021!

Sail Magazine’s jury commended, among other traits, the Oceanis 40.1’s speed, maneuverability, and versatility at the helm. Thanks to its seaworthiness, thoughtful deck layout, and keen attention to safety and comfort, the Oceanis 40.1 has also won from Sail Magazine a citation as a “true sailor’s boat” (link here).

Oceanis 40.1: Comfort & pleasure under sail

Following in the wake of her elder sister the Oceanis 51.1, this 40-foot cruiser, with a new hull design by Marc Lombard (and interior and deck design by Nauta Design), offers unrivaled deck volume and interior space, and there are no concessions to performance.

The 12-meter long Oceanis 40.1 adapts to the most demanding sailor’s cruising requirements and satisfying their need for comfort and pleasure under sail.

The Oceanis 40.1 holds Conformité Européenne (CE) Certification as a Category A vessel. That means that it meets the EU’s high standards for a self-sufficient ocean boat, particularly designed for longer voyages.

EXTERIOR DESIGN
How can you enjoy life at anchor as much as sailing? With the innovative flared hull design of the Oceanis 40.1, and steps extending over a third of the bow, BENETEAU has broken new ground but made no concessions. The result is a hull that has true speed potential and is stiff under sail. Above the waterline, her deck plan and ultra-spacious interior by Nauta Design are unheard of on a boat this size. You cannot help feeling that you are aboard a 45-foot cruiser!

INTERIOR DESIGN
With a light oak ambiance, the styling of the interior by Italian designers Nauta is remarkably bright and excels in the skillful arrangement of the living spaces. She is available with four cabins and a C-shaped galley on the starboard, offering lots of storage and a spacious worktop. On the port side, there is a large saloon with a table and a removable bench, and a chart table at the foot of the companionway provides ample working space. Everything is modular so that everyone can live the way they want and enjoy sailing wherever the wind takes them.

12 meters of space!
The philosophy of the Oceanis 40.1 is to make sailing and mooring really pleasurable. The strengths of this cruiser, studied in detail by the architect Marc Lombard and the BENETEAU design office, are unrivaled space inside, a huge deck plan, and the ability to clock up miles when you are cruising.

  • HIGH QUALITY service
At SailingCompass, only certified engineers from Yanmar, for any service operation, are having access to the engine room to maintain the engine. Accordingly, authorized personnel inspect regularly the rigging, the windlass, the hull, the gas system of the boat etc. and generally all the critical parts of a sailing boat.
Every year, we carry out a very detailed and extensive in-the-sea winter maintenance procedure.
During the winter, SY Iris is taken out of the water in order to inspect the submerged systems (shaft, propeller, rope-cutter, bow-thruster, through-hulls, etc) and service them. We also clean the hull and treat it with new coats of hull paint.
All the above and many more details help us to maintain a very high quality level which contributes to the safety of each trip.
